Research and development is still going on with a new  11-Step 35mm step tablet similar to the TP35-21 to be used with 35mm film scanners. It will have 11 steps of .30 optical density and a high resolution pattern showing 1 lpmm to 15lpmm. We hope to have this product ready soon.

October 2002:Stouffer introduces a new product for applications requiring certification and/or traceability. The T1530CC is a 15 step transmission step wedge with .30 optical density step increments in a range of .05 to 4.25. The Densities of the T1530CC compare with those of a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Standard Reference Material No. 1008 Step Tablet by means of a densitometer that conforms to conditions specified in American National Standards Diffuse Transmission Density A.N.S.I. PH2.19-1986.

For some time, Stouffer has been compiling information about the need for a color sensitivity guide. The current sample is designed for use as a scanner target with capabilities for other applications. The gray scale has 21 steps with .10 optical density increments. The color patches have one over-exposed step, normal exposure, and one under-exposed step.

This color guide isn't in production yet. More information and feedback still needs to be gathered before this becomes a Stouffer product. Your comments would be highly appreciated. Send comments to Kevin Morris.

The RZ9 Zone System Chart

Visualization is a creative and subjective concept used when approaching the art of photography. Visualization works by projecting the final photographic image in the mind.

To help the photographer use this creative concept, Stouffer has designed the RZ9 Zone System Chart. The RZ9 displays the useable Zones of I to IX for comparison of the actual tonal values of photographic papers and images to be photographed.

R1415 Reflection 14 Step Scale

Closely matching the 12-Step Cameraman's Guide as a standard for repeatability for various camera applications, the R1415 is designed for use in scanning.

R2110CLC

The R2110CLC Reflection Color Calibrated Guide incorporates traditional with digital imaging by offering optical density CMYK and L*a*b readings in calibrated documentation. By using the calibrated data it becomes easy to create a workable reference for Levels and/or Curves in photo-editing software.

Due to the low resolution of computer monitors the high quality of this guide has be compromised. This image is to show the guide's format only.

1-T Resolution Guide

Stouffer has redesigned it's Transmission Resolution Guide adding even more precision and accuracy than before. The 1-T Resolution Guide is now calibrated in inches and millimeters. It can be used for checking and measuring the lpmm (lines per millimeter) or lpi (lines per inch) resolution of scanners, lens, films, plates, ink transfers, etc.
